Stabled in the man cave is what only can be described as a thoroughbred, a truly unique specimen of cycling engineering. A bike that would enable its rider to cruise a 1000ks of breathtaking countryside effortlessly. A bike engineered to ensure its rider is immersed in Australia’s stunning vistas, a ride that quite rightly earns this island paradise the title of God’s Own Country – I know, other countries have also earnt this accolade, for example, Canada but stay with me for the purpose for this blog!
Moving swiftly on, this couldn’t be further from the truth, not so much a thoroughbred but a Shire horse – now before the politically correct among my three readers start commenting in a general negative manner, I am referring to the right horse for the right job. From an equestrian perspective, my bike is a workhorse. I’m pretty sure Bruce made my bike out in the Bush somewhere – yes it weighs a ton, it’s made from re-purposed scaffold tubes, a block & tackle and resembles a prop used in the first Mad Max movie.
Anyway, let the research begin to find what Newcastle has to offer in terms of engineered cycling excellence.
